SAN MIGUEL MISSION- SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO Oil on Board 14" x 16"
This is from a photograph I took of the San Miguel mission while on a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The beautiful old adobe structure is an art piece unto itself.

Torch Lily
I grow this beautiful lily in my courtyard. It's abundant spring blooms seem very exotic. This photo was a first place winner in a recent art show.

My direction on this piece is to capture movement and depth. I feel these forms seem to spring from the dark background and move across the canvas. This piece is 30" x 36" acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas.
'THOUGHTS OF SEDUCTION" Original oil on board and final artwork computer manipulated.
I photographed him while on a trip to Mexico. He was sitting across from me at a restaurant and was sitting looking at the woman across the table from him. You knew what he was thinking. I wanted the enrichment of color to show the progression of desire.
"THE RED SAND BUCKET" Oil on canvas
You can take a child to the beach and they will never be bored, even with simple toys. The children here are very intent on their play and the beach casts strong lights and shadows.
"Purple Glasses" (Oil on canvas board)
As you can tell, Izzy is sassy! She tried on these purple glasses and the camera caught her delight in her new look. I couldn't help putting it on canvas.
"TWO COFFEES AND A LATTE" Oil on canvas
When girlfriends gather for "coffeetalk" the world becomes smaller, problems are addressed and laughter is shared.
GOLDEN PEARS
This fruit wins the prize for the most beautiful form
"A Watchful Eye" original 11x14 oil on masonite
I find it comforting how some dogs can appear to be so complacent and yet actually be aware of everything in their surroundings. My dog here, moves only his eyes to keep watch over his family.
The wonder of dogs is how they can read human thoughts. This guy is sitting here patiently giving support and understanding to his owner. If you ever need one more person to love you...get a dog!
"HEAT OF THE DAY" Oil on masonite
Flies buzzing, still summer afternoons and the cattle have found a shady spot.
Making homemade salsa is normal in my house...fresh ingredients, of course.

"RICARDO"
Ricardo is a quirky, little chihauhua with a tongue that won\'t stay inside his head. He belongs to a friend of mine who has recently taken him to a dog whisperer to find what Ricardo thinks of his world. He\'s not saying much. Maybe he only speaks Spanish.

Buck-toothed Beagle
Funny? What do you think?
Maddie
Maddie is OBSESSED with watching over her humans. There's no complacency with this dog and she does a very good job of watching over my son and wife and their 2 children.

"Petunias" (Oil on masonite 8" x 10")
I planted this urn this spring and it sits outside my courtyard wall next to the gate. Gardening is also my passion and I feel this is a "ground up" creation of mine.
I consider myself interested in life, finding things inspiring that I would not think worthy of exploring if I they hadn't fallen across my path. My art, like my life, is a work in progress and follows many subjects. My creative life has reopened within the past few years after having been shelved by the requirements of family and career. I began painting again and have been exploring subject matter and techniques in oil an acrylic. There seems to be an abundance of inspiration, but not enough time...so is life. At times, the composition of a work along with light and shadow becomes the important feature. At other times the subject matter, color and expression behind the subject become the important aspect. Typically, I work on gessoed masonite or stretched canvas. I am currently also creating in clay. I have a B.A. in art from the University of Tulsa. I also have a childrens book that I have written and illustrated. I am a working realtor.
These are recent and older works. Some of these works are available in giclee' prints, either on paper or on canvas and custom sized. Please e-mail for prices and sizes of original works.
"Cedars in Woodward Park" Original oil on masonite 8x10
These beautifully interesting tree trunks were painted on location on an early September morning in a city park. I think the best part of the cedar tree is its trunk and bark.
"Bassman" (Oil on stretched canvas)
The bassman in a band is the steady, solid background member who keeps the beat and the music's tempo. I think that may be their nature as it is true for Lou, my husband, who keeps the pace of our lives in sync.
